How to get to EJC 2026

By Plane

  • Ljubljana (Jože Pučnik Airport, ~130 km) – Slovenia’s main international airport with flights from most European cities.
  • Graz, Austria (~90 km) – well connected to European cities and convenient if flying with low-cost carriers.
  • Zagreb, Croatia (~110 km) – accessible from major Balkan cities and a good alternative.

From these airports, you can reach Ptuj by train, bus, organized transfer, or rental car.

By Train

Ptuj is connected by regional train lines:

  • Maribor – Ptuj: frequent regional trains (~30 min).
  • Ljubljana – Ptuj: direct and connecting trains (~2.5 hours).

International connections:

  • Austria (Graz, Vienna): train to Maribor, then local train to Ptuj.
  • Italy (Trieste, Venice): train via Ljubljana or Koper.
  • Croatia (Zagreb, Varaždin): train to Maribor or Celje, then local train to Ptuj.
  • Hungary (Budapest): train to Maribor, then onward to Ptuj.

By Bus

International buses mostly stop in Maribor, from where Ptuj is only 30–40 minutes away.

Regular bus lines also connect Ptuj with major Slovenian cities: Maribor, Ljubljana, Celje.

For participants from the Balkans (Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, Montenegro), buses are often the cheapest option, often with direct connections to Maribor or Ljubljana.

By Car

Ptuj is located along the A1 motorway and is easily reachable from:

  • Ljubljana (~2 h)
  • Maribor (~30 min)
  • Zagreb (~1.5 h)
  • Graz (~1 h)
